Existing Uses and Opportunities
This industrial estate developed by Lismore City Council serves the expanding urban area of Goonellabah.
The industrial estate is split into two parts separated by a low lying area of open space. Existing uses are activities, such as: steel fabrication and welding workshops, blinds, awnings and carport sales, food distribution, concreter’s and plasterer’s depot, sign writers, child care centre, hardware and timber supplies, spray painting and panel beaters, fire fighting equipment, mini storage, State Emergency Services depot, party hire centre, window manufacturer, glass supplies, veterinary clinic, funeral parlour.
The proximity of residential estates restricts the type and nature of industrial and related uses to light industrial uses.
Although some 8.6 hectares of land (about 45% of the total estate) remains undeveloped, there may be potential for later expansion of the estate onto adjacent land zoned Investigation 1(d) off Holland Street.
